Permanent lighting in Vancouver

Vancouver is two housing markets wearing one name. West of I-205, the Hough, Arnada, Lincoln and Shumway streets are 1910s to 1940s bungalows with a single front gable and a porch, and a full roofline install is often under 150 feet. East of I-205, Fisher's Landing and Cascade Park are 1990s and 2000s two-story homes with three or four street-facing gables that measure 220 to 280 feet. Homes and rooflines here

Older Vancouver homes usually have wood fascia, which bonds well with 3M VHB tape after a wipe with denatured alcohol. Fisher's Landing and Cascade Park homes often have aluminum drip edge, so magnetic pebbles are out and channel goes on the fascia below it. HOAs are the norm east of 164th Avenue and rare downtown. Riverview and Evergreen Highlands view homes with west-facing elevations over the Columbia are where deep pebble earns its extra $5 per foot.

Monthly is a 12-month, 5.9% APR example. Running cost on Clark Public Utilities at 8.79¢/kWh: about $0.99 a month for 260 pebbles at four hours a night.

What it costs to run them here

Clark Public Utilities charges 8.79 cents per kilowatt-hour on the residential rate, unchanged since March 2024 and among the lowest in the region. A 220-foot Pebble Track install is 220 lights at 0.36 watts each on Minleon's datasheet, about 79 watts at full white. Four hours a night for a month is about 9.5 kWh, which is about 85 cents on your bill. Running holiday scenes in December uses less, because colored patterns draw fewer diodes than full white.

Do you install permanent lighting in downtown Vancouver's older neighborhoods?
Yes. Hough, Arnada, Lincoln and Shumway bungalows are some of our favorite installs because a single-story roofline with a porch lands around 130 to 160 feet, which is $4,200 to $5,100 in Pebble Track, and the lights sit right at eye level from the sidewalk.
Is there a permit for permanent lighting in Vancouver?
Yes, on the electrical side. Washington L&I treats custom cut-to-fit permanent lighting as electrical work that must be done under a licensed electrical contractor with a permit and inspection, whatever the voltage. We pull the permit as part of the install; the license numbers are in our footer. Seasonal factory-made strands on clips don't need one.
How soon can you install in Vancouver?
Measures are usually within three days anywhere in Vancouver. In September and early October, install is one to two weeks after the measure. By November, the calendar fills and we quote real slot dates rather than promises.
How much does permanent lighting cost per foot?
Our track packages are $32 per foot for Pebble Track and C9 Track, $35 for D35 Puck Track and Magnetic Pebble, and $37 for Deep Pebble Track at 12-inch spacing, with the control system included. C9 Classic on clips is $12 per foot plus a $495 system line. Minimum permanent job is $2,500 ($1,500 for C9 Classic). Every number is on our pricing page.

No travel charge anywhere in Clark County or the Portland suburbs we list. Far-out addresses (Amboy, Yacolt, Sandy, Estacada, Canby) may carry a travel line, which we tell you before the measure.
